That’s useful information to us. It helps us understand where to begin.
Your introduction starts on the beach, with a clear explanation of the equipment and what to expect. Then, in shallow water, you practice using your mask and breathing through your snorkel.
There’s time to ask questions. Time to adjust. Time to discover how it feels before moving farther.
Confidence can begin with something small: one comfortable breath, then another.
Support You Can Feel
Learning something new is easier when help is close.
Our guided beginner snorkeling experience at Wailea Beach includes a life jacket, snorkeling equipment, and an inflatable support board. Your guide provides step-by-step instruction and stays close as you explore.
You can take things gradually and use the board for support or a break.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to snorkel. That’s what we’re here to teach you.
Your First Look Beneath the Surface
Picture the moment you lower your face into the water and finally see what you came for.
Fish moving around the reef. Sunlight reaching into the ocean. A world you couldn’t see from your beach towel.
There may even be a Hawaiian green sea turtle passing through its natural habitat. Wildlife sightings vary, and we give marine life space as we watch.

Can You Join If You Don’t Know How to Swim?
Yes our First-Time Snorkeling Program is designed to welcome non-swimmers, with guided instruction and flotation support.
Tell us about your swimming ability and any concerns before booking so we can discuss whether the experience is a good fit. Ocean conditions also guide our decisions about each tour.
